What is Henna?

Henna is the paste of crushed leaves and twigs of the henna plant. You can prepare it from the smooth dust of dried leaves of the henna plant by mixing hot water. If you apply the paste to the skin, it creates a dark tan on the skin and stays for 7 to 14 days.

Are Henna and Mehndi Same?

Henna is the paste of dried or green leaves of a henna tree. The final product derived from henna is called Mehndi. However, the Arabian name for mehndi is henna. Indians call it mehndi.

Is henna safe?

The properties of natural henna are completely safe for skin and hair. For its antifungal and antibacterial properties, it is effective against the dandruff of your scalp. However, you should not apply it to broken skin. 

 How long does henna last?

Henna lasts for 7 to 14 days. Usually, it looks gorgeous for about 7 days and gradually fades. Multiple washing of hands, swimming and similar other jobs may fade henna fast. 

How long does henna take to dry?

Once you apply mehndi on the skin, it dries and keeps the stain in 30 minutes. However, it is good to keep for 6 to 8 hours. You can keep henna on your hands for 24 hours to get a deeper stain. The next 24 hours are for natural oxidisation to get a deeper and excellent stain.

 When should you book for henna art?

You must make an appointment before 48 to 72 hours of the occasion/ceremony. It takes time to get darken and perfect henna stain on hands. 

 What is black henna?

The active ingredient of black henna is Coal Tar Dye. The chemical name for it is Paraphenyladiamine or PPD. This is also known as “Kali Mehndi”. It is not natural and not safe for the skin. FDA 

From which period people Use Henna?

People use henna to adorn women-bodies before any social ceremonies and parties. From the late Bronze Age, people of the eastern Mediterranean areas. It is also considered as the blessings of good luck, joy and beauty. Some communities consider it as divine.
